We left the Keys, Curry Hammock state park 2 weeks ago and saw on the news about the screwworm. We have 2 Cockers so I googled what it was. When we HAD to stop at the check point in Key Largo all that was done was to inform us what to look for and a flier was supplied. I already knew about most from the google search. Dogs are always on the 6' leash and under controll and had no open cuts. Scary stuff

I had to Google "screwworm" to find out exactly what it is.

Unbelievable the devastation it has caused to the Key Deer population.

As stated

- Bahia Honda is worth the trip
- Dry Tortugas is probably my favorite place down there. Simply beautiful

I do agree scooters are the best way to get around the island however I belive the rental companies state the scooters aren't suppose to leave key west.

The KOA a few mikes away rents pontoon boats, not sure how their prices compare

As others stated it is a long drive from bluewater to st Augustine, it's doable though. I usually make that druventhenother direction, from KOA/bluewater/Boyd's to beaverly beach. Traffic is questionable, early start is a must

Thank you to everyone for replying. I am searching and bookmarking as we speak.

I just started to use Google Trips app, you can save places via your google maps then it is all together in this app. I hope this will provide useful for this trip.
