suggest campground texas hill country

Planning to check out texas hill country last week of april. I was originally planning this to be a motorcycle trip but my (handicapped) father is now joining us for the trip. we are going to use our toy hauler travel trailer with the motorcycle in the back. I am completely unfamiliar with texas other than driving thru it on I10 several years ago.

I am looking for a campground that would be a good central point to allow us to explore the hill country via motorcycle and pickup truck.

we need 30 amp service, water and sewage, low prices and shore fishing for my dad would be a plus.

zebrex-

We thoroughly enjoyed both our stays at the Johnson Creek RV Resort, near Kerrville. If they are still running the place, you'll find Tom and Lisa are great people.

If you are a WWII history buff, plan on spending two days at the National Museum of the Pacific War, in Fredericksburg.

We stay at Skyline Rv Park in Bandera. Bandera is close to San Antonio and has excellent motorcycle riding and is close to Kerrville and is a nice tourist town. The park is $35.00 a night and has 30 or 50 amp and is a great place to stay.

that place is a good location because it will put you close to the three sisters and not far back up to willow city loop and luckenback and sisterdale. lots of good roads to ride

Fredericksburg is an interesting small town and the surrounding area has neat things to explore including LBJ's ranch.

X2. For a centrally located base, it would be hard to beat. We stayed at the Fredericksburg RV park and liked it.

Since I live in the Texas Hill Country, I don't often stop here. I have stopped at a couple places coming or going. One we really enjoyed is in Junction, TX, called North Llano River RV Park Good place for kayaking and fishing and some amazing drives in every direction.

If you make it to Marble Falls, you need to check out this landmark. I took this photo early this AM

Buckhorn Lake Resort in Kerrville is very nice.
Close to Fredericksburg and Bandera and your dad could fish to his heart’s content right there in the park.

I would add the Rio Frio area to the list, though it is on the south end of the hill country. I know there are lots of popular motorcycle ride routes in the area.
