TA Truck Stop Lake City Florida
Hello all
I haven't been here for a long time however we purchased a new to us Lifestyle LS38SE.
We ran from Hurricane Milton the first of the week 10-8-2024.
Whew we got to the Florida state line we found no places available at any RV camp sites.
When we pulled in to the TA Truck Stop just south of Lake City for fuel we found they allowed 2 hours free parking with the fuel purchase.
Tired and hungry we decided to do just that.
While eating Miss. Shannon our waitress informed us that with a $25 purchase we could stay over night free.
They are friendly to RVs as several were all ready there.
We stayed 3 nights the pair of Honda 200i Inverter generators served us well.
Just thought you all would like to hear this story.
Phil

Check out Casey Jones RV Park in Lake City. As you pull in it looks really tight but then it opens up into a large grass field. They have hookups down the center of the field so each spot is like a hundred feet long.
Very close to I-75, 50 amps, full hookup, and cable TV, all for $29 a night cash or $30 a night credit. I keep expecting them to raise their rates but they have not yet. That's our go-to spot going north or south.
When you call for reservations they take your last name and the dates and say you're set. No emails, no online reservation system. I think they do it all in a notebook.

You are very correct we have used Casey Jones RV Park many times in our travels.
It is an easy stop leaving or coming home.
If you are going to be late they will tell where to park for the night and you can register in the morning.
Unfortunately they were full because of the mass exodus from the forecast Hurricane path.

I went to their website and you can email them, but he cautions you to put "reservations" in the subject line so he doesn't inadvertently delete it. He says he checks his emails at least once a day. And has an AOL email address.
I think I love this place.

A couple issues with truck stops is sometimes the drivers get a little pissed that you are taking up a spot. But if you are spending money just like them there is no reason why you can't park as well. The other thing is the parking lot's smell like pee. Too many drivers peeing outside their truck in the middle of the night or emptying their pee bottle before they leave. It gets pretty gross. I know I used to drive over the road.

Haha, yes, I agree.
They have a couple of rows of permanent RV's in wildly varying conditions and everyone we've met there is very friendly. The permanent RV's pay less than $400 a month. They also have several park models.
They have expanded across the street from the main area and also are building new RV spots off the back of the area.
Yet for what they charge, which is really low, they seem to be making enough money to keep the place maintained and to make improvements. Go figure.
Wow, I just looked at their web site. It's dramatically updated since last year and the previous years.
