Taking a motor home to DTE for a concert?

I hope this is the appropriate place to post this. If not I am sure one of the kind moderators will gently move it

In a couple of weeks we are heading to a concert at DTE (AKA Pine Knob). Anyway, I am looking for input from folks who have gone to a concert there in their motor homes. I checked with the venue and they said motor homes are fine. I would be directed to a dirt area over near the ski area. I was also told that I could run my generator and if it wasn't to crowded I could put out my slide(s).

I checked google maps (satellite view) and did not see a dirt area near the ski area.

I have been to Pine Knob/DTE at least 30 times, but never in a motor home. I am hoping someone on this forum has taken their motor home to a concert their and can tell me about the experience.

Thanks,
Scott

I've never seen one, but that means nothing. I was really curious though so started searching. This link makes it sound doubtful.

No awnings, canopies, you can barbecue but no open flame? Only 1 space per vehicle. The gates open around 4:30 for most concerts which would be nice. But if you have to battle the traffic getting out....

On the City Data website I found some fairly recent posts about people having car problems and the police offering to get wreckers. Apparently they want the lots emptied after concerts. Makes sense instead of having to unlock them who knows how many times and what times a wrecker of your choice will get there.

I think I'd email 313presents or go on Facebook to DTE's page and explain exactly what you have for a motor home and if you can really get in, when you must get out.

Argosy thanks for the reply. I saw the same info about the parking and that is what prompted me to call 313. I thought if I paid for VIP parking I would be covered. In talking with 313 staff it is clear taking a motor home was no big deal, but they park you in a different area near the ski area. I was told I cant stay the night, I had no plan to. I am curious what the parking area by the ski area is like. Hopefully someone will see this and have experience to share.

No issues taking the MH. They have you park in the far east section of the parking lot. We were told by the parking attendant that we could not put our slides out, so we complied with his direction. However, there were other MH who put the slides out. Go figure.

We will take ours again. Overall a good experience with no issues.
