Tampa, FL Recommendations

Looking for recommendations for a place to stay for a few weeks next Spring. We have a 4 year old so looking for more “resort” type places with all the amenities. Potential activities included Busch Gardens, Yankees spring training, and beaches. Appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

Suggest you hold your question until next week.

By then, we will have a better idea of which parks were damaged by Hurricane Ian which moves through the middle of this week.

I live here so don't t camp in the area, but Lazy Days and Bay Bayou RV Resort both are nice places with amenities and easy to get to the attractions you mentioned.

I agree with the advice to wait a week before making reservations. Depending on the storm track, some places could be closed next spring still.

This site may get you started on picking a suitable place for children. I just did a quick Google and found many more site ideas.

Thank you. Both of those places were on my list just from searching.

Lazy Days is our go to place in the Tampa area. Near all the activities you are interested in, and has the covered heated pool, pickelball, tennis, restaurant on site, shuttle to the restaurant over at the Lazy Days sales complex.

Lazy Days will likely have no/minimal damage from Ian. Bay Bayou may get surge damage depending on what happens in the next day.

Not sure you will find anything, but why don't you check with River Palms Resort on Dead River Rd just off US 301 north of Tampa. They have been sold and improved since we have stayed there a couple of times in the past on winter trips but they did have short time sites for a week or two stops. Nice folks and the price was right back then
