Tetons - Colter Bay in a 45ft DP?
Colter Bay says their length limit is 45ft, including tow vehicle. I'm wondering if it would be possible to disconnect the toad at their entrance parking lot, then take the RV to the spot and either find room for the toad at the camp spot, or possibly leave it in the parking area.
If you folks don't think either of the above is possible, any other way to do this?
Looking for help from anybody who has fit a 40+ footer in here, with a tow vehicle, or knows of a way it could be done. Thanks!

First off, Welcome to IRV2!
When we were in Colter Bay years ago there were several 45' coaches there. There may be certain areas they can go as some of the roads were tight the best I remember. Maneuvering a 36' coach was an adventure but it was one our first long trips with the Itasca.

Our coach is only 41' but we fit no problem with our tow vehicle right at our site. We were in site A1 and i'm sure a 45' coach would fit easily. I recall seeing several coaches that i am sure were 45'

Thank you for that help! Exactly the kind of info I was hoping for. And having a specific camp site number with pictures is great also. I think it would be prudent to disconnect at the parking lot if room allows, and navigate the campground roads with just the coach if I can, then go back for the toad once parked in my spot.
The next challenge will be reserving one of the handful of sites there that can fit a large rig and toad. But I've got some time before I need to do that yet.

Better yet, go scope out the route to the site in your toad, then return to the parking lot for the coach. This way you can determine the best route to your site before you have to drive there in the coach.

Agee with above. We stayed there and the big rigs had no problem. There are a few spots to park if you need to disconnect. Make reservations and have fun!

If you can't get a site, about five miles from Jackson, just about a 20-minute drive to the Tetons entrance, is a private campground called Fireside. They got bad reviews, but we stayed their last summer, and the reviews were not justified. They don't have sewer or water at each site, but water is a hose length away between sites and they have a dump at the exit. We were able to park our 40' with toad attached in their sites.

We had that site assigned to us several years ago, and went back to the office and asked for another since every person into that area drove by you and at night, got a lot of lights we didn't need. But, I do recall there being a section on the other side of this site that was a nicer and with bigger sites that had a lot of coaches there. Not sure if this was a unique area, or not. It even had grass there!

We were there in late September with a 45’ MADP. We disconnected once we checked in and used the toad to scouted the route to the site. The site was a side of the road pull through with plenty of room for the coach and toad.
The only problem was the way the site was setup our door would be on the road side which we did not like. The campground roads are all one-way, so we ended up going the wrong way in order to have the door open into the tree’d area. We then ran the hookups under the coach since the hookups were on the passenger side just behind the tag axle.

No issues with lights or traffic at all. plus this site was easy in and easy out. Additionally, it is one of the most level sites in the campground. I would gladly stay in it again if i could get it.

I have been there many times with our 45’ Rig and Jeep tow. As a matter of practice I always break tow from RV prior to going to site. At Coulter Bay this is a must because the turns can be tight depending on which row you get into. If you do not already have a site at Coulter Bay reserved, you might have a problem. The last five years it has been tuff to get a reservation there. Safe travels
Enjoy the journey
