Things are good at Myrtle Beach State Park

Park opened up this week and the place is filled with campers having a great time. Yes there are limitations such as playgrounds closed, camp stores closed till Friday, but the beach is open, trails are open, restaurants (some) are open and literally no waiting. Don’t count on the all you can eat buffets to open soon. Kids riding bikes, families and friends sitting around campfires, doing what one does when camping. Y’all come if you can get a reservation.

It'll be interesting to see if there are spikes of cases in 2-3 weeks.

When we used to go to the park we stayed on loop 2. I think we were once in #47 but we usually tried to get around 50 or 51. It has been a few years and the new campground map makes it hard to tell.

In June we are thinking about going down to Edisto or Hunting Island. I would like to check out the new section of Huntington Beach, but we shall see.

That has been my concern since the beaches opened. We have been 5-6 cases a day since the first outbreak. So far, so good. We drove down Waccamaw for the first time in several weeks and you would think it was summer. With the hotels and condos open it's anyone's guess what will happen.

Georgia was first state to open, now three weeks. Florida right behind them. We'r have been watching them. Both states have seen steady decreases in cases! Because of that we are in the road mañana for a couple of months. We'r in San Diego, but by tomorrow will be out of this crazy state.

The week of May 4 Florida had 340 deaths
On May 15 928 new cases were added and 43 deaths
On May 18 854 new cases were added and 24 deaths

It's not an 'all clear' sign to me.
