Thousand Trail Campground Availability?

We are planning our trip for next year and will be staying in the Palm Springs area in late January and other parts of central and western California in March and April. We see several Thousand Trail campgrounds close to where we are going. We are wondering how hard it is to get a reservation for these parks that time of year (especially Palm Springs), since you can only book 60 days in advance? Many of the parks will let you book a year in advance if you pay the nightly rates, which are running $70-$80 a night. If we can actually stay in the parks, it would make sense to buy a membership.

thank you

Don

Florida will be hard to impossible in January only 60 days in advance. We booked 60 days in advance through Thousand Trails for March 22nd this year and had a real struggle to find one.

There is a TT in Palm Desert but you may be limited to 14 days as this is a high demand area and season. It is a large park so getting in is not to bad. There is an Encore Park in Cathedral City that’s small and can be tough to get a spot if your a TT member with the Trails collection. I think they only allocate 10 spots for TT members. Have not used any other TT parks in Ca yet.

Palm Desert TT is pretty much booked up fro mid Dec to March. And yes the limit is 14 days.
I book 180 days out and do get spots, 60 days out is going to be a problem.

I suggest Indian Waters RV, 47202 Jefferson St., Indio, 760-342-8100. This is a nice, grassy park, wider than usual sites and two large pools. I am paying about $44/night in March.

We can book 90 days out and have never had a problem with availability’. If you book TT Palm Desert in November for January you should be able to get a 21 day stay as that is what we did...the Trails Collection Park is only 8 miles away and thenTT Park in Menefee (Wilderness Lakes) is about 55 miles away.

We try and stay in the Coachella Valley for at least 3 months a winter.
