Thousand Trails - Trails Collection
We have had a Thousand Trails membership for years and continue to get our money’s worth out of it. A couple of years ago we opted for the then-new “Trails Collection” benefit. It was $199/yr. then, now it’s $299/yr. BUT the rules have recently changed and it doesn’t appear to be good for the member.
Before you simply could go to the next park in the program if you didn’t stay any more than four nights in the current park. If you stayed more than four nights, then there was a seven night wait period before going to the next one.
Now it seems no matter how long you stay, you have the seven night wait period before being allowed into the next. That’s crazy.
See the new rules here (dated 11/19/2019):
https://campingpass.thousandtrails.c...ract?qs=TCRule
Pretty much strips the value right out of the benefit. Am I reading the rules correctly? BTW, our TT membership allows us to move from TT park to TT park without a waiting period no matter how long we’ve stayed at the previous one.

Jan. 2019 the rules changed and any stay will require 7 days out before returning to one of the TC parks.

Thousand Trails - Trails Collection
Link worked for me. I used two have the two zone deal but we since passed. There were just to many places that site quality came into play and there were just too many restrictions. Between Good Sams and FMCA we feel overall we are getting a better deal even for long term stays. We are also full timers.
I have not checked but with that type of change I would think customers might stop renewing.

If you have a Thousand Trails Camping Pass that has not been upgraded to include park to park travel benefits, and you stay at an Affiliated Resort or for more than four nights at a Thousand Trails preserve, you must wait seven nights before visiting another Affiliated Resort or Thousand Trails preserve.
You may stay at one Affiliated Resort in a recreational vehicle up to 14 consecutive nights and in a tent up to 7 consecutive nights. After each stay at any Affiliated Resort, a Participant must wait seven nights before staying again at any Affiliated Resort. We may, at our sole discretion, limit the number of times you may stay at the same Affiliated Resort during the resort’s peak season.
You are talking different levels of memberships. The Camping Pass is AKA Zone Pass and will allow an individual to stay 2 weeks at a time, then you must be out 7 nights.
A membership such as the Elite, allows us go from park to park and to stay up to 21 nights straight. Plus twice a year we are allowed to stay a 4th week for $29 dollars. With the Elite we can go from TT to any Affiliated Resort without the 7 day waiting period.
To me this Trails Collection is the same our first membership with TT was written. We could stay 14 nights then had to be out 7 nights before we were allow to use any TT park again.

Actually I’m not talking levels of Thousand Trails memberships ... only the addition piece called “Trails Collection” and the change in JUST that. The Trails Collection originally allowed anyone with a Thousand Trails Membership of any kind and the Trails Collection addition to move directly from Trails Collection Park A to another Trails Collection Park B, NO out period, as long as they hadn’t stayed more than four nights at Park A ... and so on. You could conceivably move from Trails Collection Park to Trails Collection Park continuously as long as no stay exceeded four nights.
The recent change in the Trails Collection Rules NOW says any stay in one of those parks requires a seven night out period before going to another one of those parks. That’s a big change! Again, just pointing out a recent Trails Collection change ... has nothing to do with the type of your Thousand Trails membership.

We recently upgraded to Elite and add the "Trails Collection." Even with the 7 days out for TC parks, we find it is a good value. We recently stayed at Voyager in Tucson, did a week at Catalina State Park, and then Golden Sun in Apache Junction. It worked great and saved us a ton of $. If there weren't some stay restrictions, it would be hard to get in to some of these parks because people would move in.

Again, I’ll say this recent change was enacted at least a year ago. They also changed it a bit more than that. Our original TT membership required a week out between stays but when we first added the Trails Collection they didn’t enforce that between TT and TC and back to TT so we were able to go from one to the next with no out time. That’s been changed (or their words “fixed”) now as well.

Thanks, didn’t know about the Trails Collection change until we recently contemplated getting it again. Had it a couple of years ago and it worked well for us. It’s not an option for us any more.
We will continue to enjoy our TT Platinum Plus membership, though.

Hear ya. We’re not going to renew for 2020-2021 (renewal in July). We’re going back into our house this April (in Florida) so we won’t be needing it for the immediate future. We’ll add it back on if we need, but we mainly bought it for Florida camping.
