Through NY to Maine

We are planning a trip to Maine from the South Jersey area. When I put the route in my Good Sam's trip planner I am having difficulty with "RV Warnings" through NY city. What is the best route/Bridge to navigate through the NY city area?

I'm from Monmouth County and heading that way on Friday. We go GSP all the way to the top. We're going to Lake George first so will continue up I-87 (Ny thruway). When we go to Boston we either take, from top of GSP, I287 to I-684 or go up NY Thruway and connect to I-84 that way. On GSP north of the Driscoll Bridge there are a few low stone overpasses that are fine if you move one lane to the inside. We've gone this route 5 times with no issues.

My Garmin 760LMT won't route me on the GSP since trucks are not allowed north of exit 105. But that limitation is only commercial trucks, not RVs. Do I ignore the GPS until off of GSP.

Traveled that way last year from Louisiana.
Garden State to Tappanzee. No problems and EZ pass worked.

You can take I-278 north from I-78 (a few miles west of the GSP if you're nervous about the bridges) to the Tappan Zee Bridge.You then have the choice of going north to I 84 or taking I 95, which I prefer because it is not so hilly. Follow the signs for Hartford and Boston, assuming you are headed that way. In any event DO NOT go beyond the GSP on the jersey Tpk or you'll wind up on the George Washington BR and Cross Bronx Xwy which is a true nightmare and very rough road surface.
