Time for the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta

Ok. I'm making the final adjustments to my rig for the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta trip! Its Boondocking at it's best, and the best way to see the fiesta!
I've got my American flag pole mounting now attached to my rig so that I can proudly fly the American flag. I also have my* Original Patriots flag ready the fly below it.
Hope others are going to be there. I'm taking my younger set of grandkids. It will be their first time at the fiesta.

here are pics of the last time I attended.Click image for larger version

I had signed up for the campground waiting list and just got an email that said I had 72 hours to purchase my space. So they are working the wait lists now.

Went as part of an owners group the first time.

Simply showed up with no reservations three times since.

The trick is not to be suckered by the make reservations pressure. Arrive on the Monday or Tuesday after the opening weekend. That is when the big demand is.

Stay in the dry camping area. Best viewing there anyway. You might get one land right next to you.

We’ve always wanted to go but it’s not in the cards this year. Looks like an awesome festival.

We had that happen. The dry camping area is great. A free shuttle runs all day long to take you to the launch area. We volunteered on a balloon.... great experience .... plus, we got a free, long ride.

I am currently en-route overnighting in Gallup and then to the Fiesta grounds in the morning. We're camping with the Escapees/Boomers group in the south RV lot and pretty sure we'll all be crewing as I think there are around 45-50 RVs in our group.

Hopefully, we'll get a chance to meet you.... I'll say hi if the opportunity presents itself!!

My 5 year memories are starting to pop up from all the places we went prior to the balloon fiesta. By far one of our best trips too and from, traveling in the Dutchstar. Enjoy!

We just left the Fiesta. We were with Fantasy Rv Tours and it was great! Worth their high fee? The jury is still out on that.
