To Tip or Not To Tip
I'm wondering how others respond so here is a question and informal poll. When escorted to your camping site by a campground owner/employee, do you tip or not tip the escort. Comments are welcome...thanks

Tipping is suppose to be a personal choice. If you feel like the service was exceptional then offer a tip, it's that simple. No one will laugh or criticize you when they are offered a tip and it will really really make their day! A cash tip is the ultimate compliment for any service rendered.

+1. if i'm escorted i look at it more like the owners want to prevent damage to their park's roads and other sites than as a courtesy. we are generous tippers but we echo AZ RV'rs comment.

After boating for many years and always tipping the dock hands for helping to tie up the boat , I just assumed it would be the same with our new world. The first time I tried, the gent was terribly offended. Helping us park and set up was just part of the deal.
So no, I don’t tip. Just smile and say thanks.

No. Tipping has to have its limits.

If the "guide" had offered to help hook up I might have offered a tip--after I picked myself up off the ground.

No tip, never. Guidance is so bad they should tip me for keeping quiet about their "help".

In only only the few places we've stayed at do they have someone directing you in by golf cart. They just pull through your space and move on....it would be hard to jump out and give them a few bucks even if I wanted to. Now, if someone like that really went above and beyond- I wouldn't hesitate. We had water pump issues many years ago in Lake Havasu. There was a mobile rv guy there working nearby. I told him what my problem was an he gave me some advice on how to fix it- which worked. I gave him 20 bucks. The guy was from Blondie's mobile rv repair.
