it's up to you. i just checked some mileage and it it something like 2,000 miles from michigan to grand canyon. but then it is another 800 miles from grand canyon to lake tahoe. you might want to consider dropping lake tahoe and going to the utah parks instaed. you could make another trip later to visit the pacific northwest and lake tahoe.
i would use both i-40 and i-70/i-80. use one coming and one going back.

I wonder if OP (Rose) will come back with any comments about suggestions everyone made?

Have you thought about planning your trip on www.rvparky.com. It is a great website at no cost. Has lot of information along with your route with day schedules. Can add fuel stops, rv parks and other attractions. Were at the Soo last August for a few days and in Battle Creek for a week. Have a safe trip.

We are from Ontario, so have just a few hours extra driving for this trip. We planned a trip in 2017 to see most of your areas of interest. We ended up dividing it and doing two trips, both of them about 7 weeks.
There are good tips already in this thread. I would add that unless you are avid hikers that the grand canyon can be done in two days. We enjoyed many areas much more than the Grand Canyon, although it was amazing to see. In New Mexico we stayed in Silver City and did a day trip to the Gila Cliff dwellings. There is also the Carlsbad caverns nearby.
Palo Duro Canyon is amazing. We have been twice. The second time was when our motorhome needed repairs in Amarillo and we had to adjust our trip. Since we liked it there, we just unhooked the toad and went for a day trip. There is always something that can go wrong on a long trip,
Not far from Grand Canyon is Page Arizona. You can do a boat trip on Lake Powell, a tour through antelope canyon, see the horseshoe bend on the Colorado river.
It is a short distance from there to see Zion and Bryce. It is a bit of a drive to Lake Tahoe, but we did go there on the second trip. We went so we could ski there, but it is lovely. There still could be quite a bit of snow, depending on the year, that could impact what you want to do there.
Although it is a long drive, and you might want to only drive once and see everything, we found it was well worth going twice.

If you going out I-40, check the long term weather forecasts along the route in northern NM and AZ. End of October, overnight lows were down below freezing at the Grand Canyon CG (6,000+ ft elevation). Gallup, NM was pretty cold, too.

Zion!!!
Enter from the east through the Mt Carmel tunnel on HWY9.
Check with the national parks website for restrictions for your MH.
https://www.nps.gov/zion/planyourvis...mel-tunnel.htm
We have traveled all over this amazing country and a lot of the world.
Zion is the most amazing thing we have ever seen!
I would put it as #1 on a bucket list recommendation!

Hello Ivylog and traveldawg,
I have been reading and noting all the comments and recommendations made. I haven’t planned the trip yet, as we’re not going until mid-April, but will definitely get back to this board when I compile all the notes and plan it all out. Thank you.
Rose
