We retired in Dec 2021
We are currently traveling up the east coast, we’re going to spend this summer in Maine, New York, Michigan & Wisconsin, then travel back down to Florida for the winter
We are thousand trails members and try to maximize our use of TT or TC parks
It would be more fun if we were on this exact itinerary with friends we could share the side trips with
It would be nice to come back from a day of side trips, discuss your experience & eat dinner together
Likewise it would be comforting if traveling with others in case you had problems
Next year we’re going out west to see the scenery & major sights. We haven’t planned it out in detail
I know there are RV commercial tour companies out there like Fantasy RV Tour but all the ones I’ve seen are very expensive.
Are there any direct means of linking up with others on trips or does anyone know how to do about this
Can I just post on IRV2 my itinerary for next year & ask if any one is interested in traveling together … or does that violate the rules?

Traveling with someone, to us, would be very difficult. Everyone has different ideas on what to see, routes to take, how long to drive each day, what time to leave in the morning, where to eat, where to stay - RV parks, public parks, boondocking. I would guess very few people travel this way. Hope traveling works out for you.

At the campsite people there are most likely visiting the same places in the area. If you see people sitting outside, take a walk and stop and ask about a certain attraction or restaurant and that will start a conversation. Mention what you did that day. Many times they'll offer you a chair to chat. If you all seem compatible then invite them to your campsite for a drink and snack. We have met so many people this way and some we've kept in touch and visited with them in other places.

We were in Death Valley sitting outside and a couple walked by with a dog. We love dogs and greeted them. They came over and sat down and we visited for a time. They mentioned they wanted to tour Scotty's Castle but couldn't take the dog and didn't want to leave it in the RV. They asked if we'd watch it. We gladly said "yes". That was perhaps 20 yr. ago and we're still friends today and have met up with them often.

The few times we have travelled with a group it can prove to be restrictive. Our interests and timetable differ. We prefer to travel alone and maybe meet up with folks along the way.

Once in a campsite, I take the dog for a walk and meet some of the neighbors and sometime invite them back to our site for a campfire chat or we get invited to their site.

We will be in Wisconsin and Michigan later this summer. Next year we will be in Florida from October 17th to the end of December. Then we are planning on spending the rest of the winter in the Texas Thousand Trails Parks.

We have good friends that have traveled with us for 20 years in their own camper. Not every trip but quite a few.
Sadly the man has developed some vision issues and now will tow only short distances in a day. 200 miles a day where we will bust out 500 if need be to get where we're going.
If they want to go on a particular trip they get a VRBO/ABNB in the area and take the car. Good RVing friends as couples are hard to find. Cherish them.
