Trip to Colorado Rockies and Seattle Mariners
Leaving from Arkansas, we are planning to visit these 2 baseball stadiums in mid June thru July. We also want to visit Yellowstone on the way. We know there is so much to see and visit along the way, but we have never really been out west, so I would like to get some recommendations for places to visit on the way out and on the way back.

Make reservations now for Yellowstone!!! If you are lucky you still get the parks that are close.

Larry,
We need a lot more info to be of any real help - where have you been - what do you like to do - Phot - Hike - Fish -Baseball - Denver has a pretty nice stadium and is near a lot to do - Homelessness has penetrated the area around the stadium - see if you can get reservation in Golden Clear Creek - https://rec.cityofgolden.net/wbwsc/w...aceparameter=3 - easy drive to the stadium
Then when you leave Golden Take RT 6 out to Idaho Springs and I-70 into the mountains - is a Beautiful Drive.
Look at possibly getting over to Leadville on RT 91 as a good side trip then Maybe RT 24 back to I-70 just past Vail.
I could go on and on but need to have an idea of what you are after.
Name dropping;
Buena Vista
Crested Butte
Collegiates
Independence Pass
Maroon Bells
Black Canyon of the Gunnison
Ouray
Silverton
Dino NM
Flaming Gorge
Jackson
Steamboat
Jackson
Tetons
YNP
Beartooth
Chief Joseph
Wind River Canyon
on and on...............................................
Best of Luck,

We are big baseball fans and visiting all 30 Major League Baseball parks in the RV is one of the main reasons we got into RVing. We have visited 22 so far. This will be our first trip out west in the RV, so we have not been anywhere past the Texas panhandle. Well, we did go to the Balloon Fiesta and Carlsbad a couple years ago, but nothing north and west. We have decided to go to Yellowstone, but are looking for suggestions other than that.
We do like visit the national parks, do easy hiking and sight seeing. We both like to fish, but we are not into it in a very big way at all. I do not know what Phot is. I assume it may be a typo, but I can't figure out what it might be.
We do know there is way more to see and do than is practical in one trip, so I would like to not deviate too much off our route to Denver and Seattle. I know we will be making other trips in the coming years.

We ran into a couple several years ago who were on their way home after seeing a ballgame in every major league field in the country.
Two days before the trip their toad was totaled so they did it without a toad.

Sorry for the Typo

On the way to Yellowstone I'd suggest a few stops - Grand Lake, allowing you to visit RMNP - Peak to Peak through Lyons and Trail Ridge to Grand Lake or around on RT 6 to RT 40 over Berthoud Pass and on to Grand Lake, both Beautiful Drives - then Through Steamboat Springs with posible State Parks stops of StageCoach Lake SP - Steamboat Lake SP and Yampa River SP - then on to Dino NM for the Bones and the Green River before Heading up to Flaming Gorge NRA - now onto Jackson - Tetons YNP then whatever strikes your Fancy through Idaho and Washington State. So much to see and Never enough TIME.
Even if time is a premium you could at least scout these out for future trips, as IMHO you are driving through a Target Rich Environment.
Other than the depressing sight of the Homeless around the BallParks this should be a great trip, I had not been by the BallPark in Denver in a few years and last September had the occasion to drive by the Park and it was quite a Shock.
Idaho - https://www.planetware.com/tourist-a...idaho-usid.htm
I know we will be making other trips in the coming years.

Hope this helps,

For the Seattle Mariners Stadium..... I just Googled Mapped it and if it's the same as T-Mobile park then I would highly suggest you stay in Port Townsend, WA & drive your car a short distance to the Bainbridge Ferry and take that for a short trip into Seattle. It lets you off at the Seattle Aquarium and according to the map it's only one mile from the stadium. We've used the ferry often for visiting Seattle from Port Townsend.
It's a LOT more pleasant staying at Port Townsend (Worden State Park is our favorite) than staying in Seattle. Plus, there is lots to do in the area.

I would recommend coming our of Yellowstone, stopping at Island Park, seeing Mesa Falls and maybe enjoying some world class fishing. From there maybe Sun Valley and the Stanley area in Idaho. The lakes and Sawtooth Mountains are beautiful. https://rvidaho.org/ will send you a map and campgrounds list of the state.
