Tucson AZ winter stay
Has anyone wintered at either Voyager RV Park or Desert Trails RV in Tucson AZ? Both look very nice, with lots of activities and seem to be RV-oriented (rather than mostly park models). RV Park Reviews of both are good. Any recommendations (or cautions) appreciated.

Stayed for 2 weeks in Feb 2013 at Justin's Diamond J, which is right beside Desert Trails. I would say almost a rural setting, but very close to a lot of things to do. The Saguaro State park I believe is right next to the campground. Very cool sunsets with all the Cacti. My wife and I are rural people so the area suited us. If we return to Tucson we would likely stay in that area.

We stayed at Justins Diamond J in January of this year. Its a nice place with all RV's / no park models. Lots are large and comfortable. If you stay in the rear section, you are up against the desert with good views. We drove thru the Desert Trails resort which is next door to Justins. In my opinion, there is no comparison. Desert Trails seemed very crowded - no where near as nice.

Desert Trails would be in the best surroundings if you like nature and great hiking nearby. . . not sure of their activities.
Voyager in basically a Park Model park with a section for RVs. It would have the most activities but unless you like to look at other RVs, natural surroundings are zilch. They have a great Pickleball program if that interests you.

Spent some time at Justin's and at Desert Trails. Desert Trails is older, tighter, and a bit tougher to get around in with large RVs but we made it okay with our 38 footer and Jeep toad. Lots of activities at Desert Trails and frequent entertainment. Also has great desert views, easy access to Saguaro National Monument and numerous trails for hiking, biking, etc. Nothing wrong with Justin's, but we prefer Desert Trails.

We stayed at Desert Trails. Yes its a little tight, but great views great hiking, and great activities because the owner has weekly meeting meetings with guests to share news, activities, and concerns. We are definitely going back.

Stayed at Voyager several times. They can fit large rigs easy, if small you still feel comfortable. The restaurant was decent and the bar friendly always had a good time. The bike club was a good one. I want to try Rincon and Desert Trails next time but the dear wife says she likes the large pools at Voyager even though you have to listen to the pickleball courts right behind them.

The large pool at Rincon Country West is next to the shuffle board courts. Quiet. Here is a couple of pictures of the parking spaces called the Quads, grass right out your front door. This was in 05 the trees are much bigger now.

We stayed at the Voyager for 3 months in 2013 and highly recommend it. We really liked all the activities & amenities that were offered. The Rincon West Quads are nice, however, there is a LOT of plane noise and a small number of those quad sites, so you wait years to get one. Voyager has a lot of park models but you get to choose where you park, among the park models or in the rv only section. We liked that, our site was over 100 feet long. The people are friendly, none of that silly high school stuff, park model vs rv. We are going back in 2015 for 3 months. They also have pet and non pet areas. We had friends that stayed at Far West Village and the sites were very tight. Tucson is a great place to spend the winter.
