Tunica Casino recommendations

We will be passing through the Memphis area and want to stay at one of the casino/campgrounds.

Any recommendations/favorites. One better than the others?

Thanks, Mike

We stayed at Sam's Town last year and it was very nice. There is another place across the street from Sam's town thats supposed to be nice too but I can't remember the name.

I believe there are three locations in Tunica. They are Sam's Town, Hollywood and Harrah's (used to be Grand Casino). Of the three I think Harrah's is the nicest and it is where we have stayed several times before. It isn't within walking distance of the casino like the other ones but they have a shuttle that comes around every 20 or 30 minutes (don't remember which). I'm not sure of the costs at each of the three. If you are a member of Harrah's Rewards, you do get a discount.

It's been 3 years since we were in Tunica, but we stayed at Grands (I understand it's Harrah's now) The campground was nice, had a pool near out site, shuttle that came around on a regular schedule or on demand as it was slow and they just told us to call and it would be right over.

It definitely was one of the newer campgrounds, very clean, paved sites and had excellent hookups. Sites were very reasonable priced, and since I got one of their players cards, the systems tracks you playing and gives you a discount on your lodging. Because the campground was so cheap, our stay was completely free after the comps. (and I only played very briefly)

We have stayed at Hollywood twice, and when in the area would stay there again. Parking lot is well lighted(bright as day all night long). They even have handi cap campsites, right behind the casino, they give you a card so you can go in the back door instead of walking all the way around the building-nice! As non smokers we also appreciated the non smoking room(not just a section) with glass doors to keep the smoke and smell out. We visited a couple of the other casinos and non pay out any better than the others! Oh,as well as the campground they also have a very large parking lot if you aren't going to be there long and want to "boondock". We have seen several motorhomes and rvs parked in that area overnight.
