We were told by Recreation.Gov that Upper Pines campground in Yosemite Valley will only release 50% of the sites at 7am PST on 1/15/2021. The problem is they can't tell me which ones will be open and which ones will be closed. I'm concerned if I have to wait until 7am to start looking for an open site chances of getting one will be slim. I have called twice to the campground and haven't been able to talk to anyone yet, left message to give me a call back to no avail

Does anyone have any information on this situation?

Secured site #86 Upper Pines yosemite Valley for the 1st week in June.

Great news -- congrats! The falls should be at their peak at that time -- hopefully, we will get some more rain and snow before June. Watch for rainbows in the falling water -- they are all over the place. This shot of Yosemite Falls was taken right near Upper Pines -- it was a time exposure, so the colors of the rainbow were intensified by the long exposure:
