i was on the end of a phone call like that ,in my business i had a private number that was only used for personal calls , it was always answered "hello" it was similar to a motorcycle shop in town . one sunday morning i was in catching up on some paperwork, get a call from an irate owner cussing and swearing and wants to know why his bike wasn't ready . i told him i had just finished it and if he would come down to pick it up i would shove up his body part that he had threatened to kick on my person. kept listening to the news i expected to hear about an assault on a business owner

I would second this possibility. Years ago when I owned a service station my number was 1 digit away from the number to be dialed for the local time. There were days when I would get hundreds of calls asking the time. Sometimes when I tried to explain to the person they had misdialed the number they got irate and asked to speak to my supervisor.

After a month and thousands of calls the phone company finally changed the number for the time. It's easy to misread a digit or fat finger the pad and get the wrong number. I'd try again to see if you possibly made a mistake in dialing. If you get the same treatment you know for sure you don't want to stay there.

I use to work for a company who's phone number was one digit off from the number for Legal Aid, we use to get calls all the time. One day I get a call from a guy who was insistent that I represent him, relentlessly I tried to explain that I was not Legal Aid, he had called the wrong number. After a few more minutes I finally went along with it, telling him I will represent him but unfortunately he will be going to jail because I didn't believe his story..... he became Irate so I backed off and again told him that this was not Legal Aid and I gave him the right number, but now he was on the kick that I said I would represent him........ I just couldn't win, but for some reason I was having to much fun to just hang up......

Long story short, the guy did a revers look up on the number and showed up at the office........ Now he was even more irate because we were not Legal Aid...... I just called the Police and they arrested the guy on other warrants that he had.

If you called early in the morning and woke her up - I am grouchy like that if called early. If it is owner operated and full then I guess she could answer that way. But probably there were other outside circumstances that led to her rude response, Balmorhea State Park is wonderful and I love their pool. You could swim now if the weather cooperates. The pool is spring-fed and always the same temperature. The campsites are clean and some even have cable TV. My site there was a pull-thru with full hookups, a covered picnic table and BBQ grill.

A couple years back I was getting these calls from guys on parole. It must have been the line where they called to "check-in". Like others have said, there are a certain number of folks that just will not believe you when you say it's the wrong number.

So after a few weeks, I'd just tell those people "yeah, it's OK for you to leave the state. Oh, and I see you are clear to buy a gun now".

I agree. As a business owner, I would like the chance to make things right after one of my employees was rude rather than suffer the wrath of a terrible review on some website. Give me the chance, then if I turn you off, have at it.
