We have reservations this summer in Keystone and plan on visiting Mt Rushmore for the fireworks on July 3rd. I've read that we want to plan on going to the park early afternoon because it fills up quickly. I can see on the website I have that there are parking lots and a parking garage at the park. I am wondering if there is RV parking there as well. It would be great if we could take the MH up there to hang out in while we are waiting for the fireworks. Would also be great because we could hang out in comfort while waiting for the crowds to die down afterwards. Has anyone ever been there in a MH ?? Thanks in advance !!

We were there last year and I only remember parking at the parking garage.

I just looked at their map at the nps.gov site, and didn't see any indication of RV parking. I imagine they get a lot of tourist buses though, so there must be oversize parking for them, but I don't know if RVs can park in that area. The website does mention a bus parking fee of $50 for 24 hours.

Their headquartes phone number is 605-574-2523. You might want to give them a call first.

Shannone:

We were there this past September and there is RV parking. I saw a number of tour buses and several RV's in the lot. I am sure it will fill quickly during that time. You will enjoy the visit. While I had seen photos of Mt. Rushmore all my life, I was still impressed by the real thing up close.
