Wahweap Campground & Marina
Has anyone stayed here and if so is it a good base camp for visiting Page AZ too. We want to do some things on the Lake and below the Dam. Visiting mid May.

I stayed there a few years ago. It was a good base to see the area. We took a boat ride to the Rainbow bridge Monument and toured the dam.

We lived in Page for a couple of years and rode our Can Am Spyder on many day trips around the area. We rode through Wahweap several times to observe coaches/toad options/etc. (we’re fulltimers and had just started living in our “98 HR Imperial) It is a beautiful campground - make a reservation ASAP.
As far as a base to see the area, you can’t beat it. Besides what is very nearby (Lake Powell activities, Slot Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, Hiking, Lee’s Ferry) you are a couple of hours from both rims of the Grand Canyon, Four Corners, Monument Valley, as well as Zion & Bryce NP’s in UTAH, etc., etc. Can’t say enough about the beauty of that area.

I did a lot of research and found the same. I booked Wahweap for our Spring vacation based on all the positive information and reviews I saw. And booked the photography tour of Antelope Canyon while I was at it. Glad to see this discussion. I want to get the most out of our Spring vacation.

The views are gorgeous as the light changes throughout the day and evening. Campground is very nice. You’ll enjoy that stay!

We stayed there on our trip out West about three years ago. Decent place, spots are good sized and fairly spaced. We rented a 21 foot ski boat from a nearby rental place and went uplake to rainbow bridge one day, and then grandkids wakeboarded and skiied the next day. (We had brought their boards in the RV) Exploring some of the narrow canyons was fun.
We were amazed how cold the water was considering how hot the air temperature was.
Great time -- Dale

A great campground, Wahweep Lodge close for a restaurant.
Water temps in in spring around 50’s, in Oct around 80’s. Try to explore the lakes shoreline by boat, very spectacular!
