I have to be in Waynesboro in mid April and wondered if anyone had stayed here...I've looked at campgroundreviews.com and the TL directory, but was wondering if an IRV2'er had any experience....

Have you checked out this site: www.campgroundreviews.com We use it all the time to check out campgrounds for reports from other campers. We find the reviews are pretty on target.

We thought so too. Picked up a brochure at the RV show and it looks like a place to go for a weekend trip. We are always looking for "short" trips during the year since the husband is still working. Like to take off on Fri. afternoon so we can there before dark. Have you ever been to the Wayneboro 340 campground? It's a "little" tight for big rigs, but we all really like it there. Just don't pull in after dark ! The staff are great, and you really feel like you are in the woods there....cause you are!

Haven't done the 340 campground,it did sound "tight" for big rigs though....
Speaking of "picking up" things at the show,I picked up a brochure for "Rockahock" on Route 60,near Williamsburg. Sounds like we might try that one before too long on a weekend.
I'm busy right now searching for somewhere to drop the jacks in Daytona in May,to visit my son at school...I've been to several there, just need to decide which one.
My son will be in between sessions as he's staying the summer....That's what I get for sending him to a University in DAYTONA!!

The Tascas are doing a campout at Rockahock in June. We have stopped by there and visited, but never camped there. It used to be a "fishing" camp, and rather run down and un-appealing. But we talked to the owners at the show and she said they have added a lot of new sights (50 amp) and a comm. building for clubs to use for functions. They are trying to attract clubs and get rid of the "fishing" camp image. They also, we know this from friends, they have a to die for Ital. restaurant on the campground. She said to let her know how many will be in the group and she will make reservations for us. It is called the Tuscany House. I brought home a menu from the RV show....YUM ! It is a pretty location and we are looking forward to trying it out.

I have stayed at Walnut Hills and we really like it but I would recommend that your request a site down on the bottom near the lake. We had lake front and really enjoyed fishing and had no problems moving around in the park. The park has a gennie (spelling?) that was really funny it would follow you to your site, hangout a few mins then return to the front office and wait for the next car to come in the park. I would recoommend Walnut Hills for a weekend trip.

I've done the single overnight on the way from NY to NC 3 times now; no problems at all with Walnut Hills. Good facilities & friendly people. Won't hesitate to return. Good luck.
