Lastly, if you can't have fun at Disney, make a doctor appointment as soon as you get home.
Thanks, do go to the doctor regularly, but every time they try the Disney transplant it fails. WDW is,to me, at best tolerable even though we go a couple times a year to accommodate visitors - our home base is six miles away. But, hey, all those that really enjoy please keep coming back often, and enjoy. Bring lots of money and leave it here as you go back home.

We have been to Disney before and stayed at a resort there but never the campgound so we are just looking for some fun things to do around the campground on our downtime. Thanks all and have a wonderful day!!
Check out the disboards.com forum. There is a special forum on camping at Fort Wilderness.

We stayed at Fort Wilderness campground with our RV 3 times in the last 10 years and loved it. Yes it is bit pricey, but that is Disney and you do get somewhat of what you pay for. The facilities are clean and modern, great transportation throughout the parks and it is free. The entire place is huge - takes a lot of money to maintain that. The prices are slightly above the norm and if I found a campground like that elsewhere I'd pay them the same money. We are from Southern Ontario, Canada and I would go back for sure.

We did stay at another campground outside Disney once about 15 years ago and it wasn't bad. You loose some flexibility as the transportation to the camp only happens at certain times. The place we stayed back then moved and was reduced in size since then. Even though it was about 20 minutes bus ride to Disney (from somewhere in Kissimmee) the prices were not that much cheaper. Basically, everyone around Disney lives off of the tourists.

+1 for that skip meals plans. We never had them and would not buy them. Basically you pay extra to eat fast food all days long.

Depending on the time of year you go it can be very price comparative to other campgrounds in the area. Remember if you stay off the Disney campus it cost 15.00 to park plus driving time and aggrivation. If you have several in your party you can go back to the RV by using the Disney transportation. That is a big plus for us to go back to the RV in the late afternoon and return at night. Also by staying on the grounds you can enter the parks eariler and stay later when they are open to those who stay on the grounds.
