Wanted: Yuma, AZ campground sugestions.
Looking for campground resorts suggestions and points of interest in the Yuma, AZ area. I'd like to start making plans and getting places book for January and February. I'd also like to know if the Yuma area is part of that awful drought they're having in southern California?

I know nothing about it but a friend is staying here this winter. It's a new park called CAREFREE VILLAGE:

You have many choices in Yuma, start here Yuma, AZ Campground Reviews - Best of Yuma Camping - RV Park Reviews We have stayed in 7 of the parks , found we like it out by the foothills. Yes Yuma is a dry place, the water is terrible. They have drinking water machines everywhere $.25 a gallon. I think we had 3 or 4 light rain showers last year. The valley is irrigated they grow nice green crops ( lettuce) all winter Temps are the warmest you will find in AZ. By March we head to Casa Grande or Tucson. Don't worry about reservations stay someplace for a week look around and see what you like in your price range. We did find a place I may actually make some reservations this year.

I'd love to travel and not worry about reservations. We made our first trip to Florida last year and had reservations all the way and very glad we did.

We stayed a week at The Palms RV Resort in Yuma. Absolutely first class in every way. Beautiful facility, nice people, and rated in the top 2% of all RV Resorts in the USA. It's the only reason we would ever go back to Yuma. Can't imagine why people go to Yuma a second time, but staying at The Palms makes it so-o-o tempting.

Thanks for the recommendation. Did you have reservations when you stayed there?

It's worth a month. Much to do in and near Yuma.

Yes on Cocopah. We spent the last two winters there and it is as nice as it gets in Yuma, or anywhere else, for a lot less cash. Nice golf course, not the toughest, but nice, and a lot of really nice folks.
