Three years ago, left the west coast Aug. 10th. Labor day weekend in Eastern Ontario, through the Canadian Maritime Provinces ; dodging hurricanes, 40,000 homes without power the day we entered Nova Scotia ; Crossed into Maine , Sept 17th. turned out the change was late that year

didn't really have time to wait , and there was another hurricane coming , so we missed the best part.
Best advice for the trip would be , mark off the areas on the route you have seen before , or are likely to get to on a shorter trip later, and get through them quickly. Get straight to the areas you really want to see on this trip, and don't try and stick to a tight schedule once your there .
Vermont , with the covered bridges was a favorite , unfortunately many were destroyed by flooding the next year.
Safe travels.
