What is going on with state campgrounds in the NE?

A few weeks ago a Vermont state campground would not let me register because my county and state- Litchfield, Connecticut had a higher covid case rate than they required. All counties in Ct and Mass don't meet their criterion and a lot in NY, NH, and Maine don't meet them either.

Here is the NE and Middle Atlantic map which shows the case rate by county- https://accd.vermont.gov/covid-19/re...s-state-travel

Now a few weeks later I checked the Massachussets website and they say that camping fees are $17 per night for state residents and $55 for out of state residents. Fortunately when I actually book a reservation at Reserveamerica it is only $25 for out of state residents.

States in the NE seem to want to keep their campgrounds to themselves.

COVID-19 changed a lot of things
Don't hold your breathe for changes go back to the way they were Pre-COVID

States obligation is to protect/provide for their state residents FIRST

Thousand Trails

Consider getting a Thousand Trails Zone Pass (they have a sale going on right now). As a member, you can make reservations in any of their parks with no nightly fees or hassles as you have experienced. They have parks in Maine, Mass, NY, NJ, Penna etc.

I'm in my 4th park on this trip and no hassles. Wear mask when checking in and interacting with staff.

On this 110 night trip, about 100 of my nights will be in TT parks at no charge beyond my membership fees to TT.
