What to do in Denver, CO ?

Hello...

Just thought I would give this a try....

Next week (10/1 thru 10/5) we will be in Denver... Unfortunately, we aren't taking our RV... but I would like your help none-the-less...

Looking for suggestions on what to do.. where to go.. what to miss.. what NOT to miss..

As much as I would love to be taking this trip in the RV.. we opted for a cheap flight instead..

We're gonna have a rental car.. and we don't mind driving, as long as it's worth the time..

So.. hit me up with some good suggestions...

Thanks !!

Way too many things to list, but:

If you like Mexican food in an interesting, touristy setting complete with performers and cliff divers, try Casa Bonita, a long-time Denver favorite (actually, it's in Lakewood) - kids of all ages enjoy it:

Casa Bonita — Denver Mexican Restaurant | Taste the Magic of Mexico!

The Denver Museum of Nature and Science is great:

And here's a list of many museums in Denver:

Denver Museums : The Official Denver Guide

The Denver mint, where you can see your money being made:

The botanic gardens is a place to see:

Lookout Mountain, where Buffalo Bill is buried:

Lookout Mountain - great views of Denver from 7,500' - Review of Lookout Mountain, Golden, CO - TripAdvisor

Head up to Boulder to take a walk along Pearl Street Mall, with lots of interesting shops:

Visit | History of Pearl Street | Downtown Boulder, CO

Head up into the mountains toward Evergreen and points west, and enjoy leaf peeping, since the tree leaves have turned brilliant colors.

No doubt, others will chime in - enjoy your trip!

If you are interested in western art, the Leaning Tree greeting card company offers a beautiful, and free, museum at 6055 Longbow Drive in Boulder. Much more info at their website, www.leaningtreemuseum.com. Tours of the Jelly Belly factory are also nearby.

If you are into aviation or Star Wars, head to Wings over the Rockies Aviation Museum.

If you are a car person, or just want to see as far as you can see, Pikes Peak is a couple of hours away but on a clear day the view is spectacular.

Check out what concerts are out at Red Rocks Amphitheater. Beautiful. They get great concerts and the place is amazing! If you are not into music, just drive out for fun on an afternoon. It is actually by Morrison, CO. Great eateries and shops in Morrison. Very near Denver.

For me, it would be the Forney Museum of Transportation.

Forney Museum of Transportation

You will see more one of a kind cars there than any place on Earth. Plus cars owned by famous people.

If you like Trains there is the Georgetown Loop Railroad in Georgetown and the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden. Also in Golden the Coors brewery has a great tour.

If you want to do something active and outdoors, hit the Valmont Bike Park in Boulder. You can rent bikes from bike shops in town. It's not difficult riding, and is a lot of fun!
