We'll be in Savannah this year. Will miss our family, but will be with them via Skype. Merry Christmas everyone.

After having our morning fellowship and family gathering the wife and I always go and see a movie at the theater in the afternoon. This year will be the viewing of "Saving Mr. Banks".

It never really goes away . . . if you ignore it you just don't notice it. Kinda like if folks ignore you . . . you're still there, but just not noticed.
Merry Christmas to all . . . and remember the reason for the season!

Getting together here at our park in Zephyrhills, FL with our friends and putting on a big feast and enjoying our time together. Calling the kids back home and saying MERRY CHRISTMAS!! We spent our time with them before we left for the South.

Our daughter in law called two and a half months ago with the news that she had been diagnosed with cancer. Two small children and our son just started a new business, she would require surgery and months of chemo and radiation besides and then get the prognosis. Could we help? She was too emotional to even know how?
So were we. My wife was fulfilling a life long dream of completing a Masters degree, she has her own consulting business. I was finishing a China Cabinet I had promised our daughter in Ohio and twice put off. It had to go this year which meant me driving it to Ohio from Seattle to put it in her living room. We live 40 miles through the worst traffic Seattle has to offer. A round trip might take three hours per day. We have a dog, a very needy dog. Normally we head south for the winter.
Of course we said yes. Then off the phone began to ponder exactly what we could do. It hit me. "We will take the motor home over and hook it up to their house and stay there as long as this takes. That way we have our home but are only steps from theirs, on call. So here we are shuffling kids to day school, cooking, cleaning, shopping, cooking, and attending soccer matches and gymnastic classes and chemotherapy sessions what ever it takes.
Our daughters tree stands beside the China Cabinet in Ohio.
Although this is a challenge we have not laughed this often or as hard for a long time. Mostly at ourselves. This may be the best Christmas ever.

We are going to go pick up our Christmas present tomorrow (Wildwood TT) and since my boys are stationed too far away to see them this year, we are going to sleep in, eat breakfast, then start loading all of our stuff into the new camper! FUN day!
