I suggest going west to US-98 then north to US-301 just south of Dade City, then continue north and bear left on US-98 and connect with I -75 near Ridge Manor.

Do not go anywhere near Deen Still Road or SR-54 or we'll have to send out a search party.
The US-98 route looks good. I have been up and down US-98 through the north side of Lakeland enough to see it isn't too bad once you get past the first 3 miles or so.

After looking at the map closer my initial thought was actually HWY 33 to HWY 19 (at Groveland) to US-27 for a few miles then onto FL Turnpike then I75. Alternatively to that to avoid the tollway at Groveland I could take HWY 50 west to US-98 then I75.

THANKS!

Looking at this year's calendar I'm not thinking leaving on Sun, April 3rd getting to Macon. We will stay there until we leave Saturday morning to get through ATL and just south of Chattanooga for a night and then Sunday gets us through both CHA and Nashville. The alternate would be move it back a week to the 10th.

THANKS!

I've done SR 50 west and SR 19 north of Groveland several times and don't recall anything difficult or bad; SR 50 is two-lane west of Mascotte but it's a good road. I've never done SR 33 that way.

Welcome to the area Sky Boss. Are you enjoying yourself? We live a few miles South of I4. About 5 miles from Fantasy of Flight.

I think "parking lot" is a bit of an exaggeration. They don't all leave on the same day.

Ya...it may have been a bit hyperbole. LOL However, I do recall an IRV posting a couple years ago that used that term.

Granted, a major accident of any kind can cause that regardless of the amount of RV traffic. I'm just figuring I want to avoid the worst of it and I have the luxury of adjusting travel dates to reduce the chances of catch the busiest time.

We are staying in Mount Olive Shores North. We will scout around in January to look at other places to return to next year if we can't come to an agreement with the current owner of the site we are renting.

Drop me a PM if you have any suggestions.

If you are leaving from Mt. Olive shores than the Hwy 33 to Groveland then up 19 to 27 than the turnpike is definitely the quicker route. I travel north out of Winter Haven quite often, have tried all the routes, and this ends up being the quickest. The toll with a toad is only 4.50 I believe and you will make better time on the than taking Hwy 50 out of Groveland. As for as 75 there will be increased traffic to some extent but the number of RV's leaving is small in relation to normal truck and auto traffic.

Kinda my point. LOL One bad accident and it will be possible to take a nap sitting and waiting. (Yep...the last was hyperbole too. )

I 75 construction

Tampa area... Figure from Ruskin/Brandon all the way to Brooksville. They have been messing around it seems like forever. But that's my opinion- living here all year I try to avoid at all cost.

275 in downtown Tampa has had a recent lane shift.. Stay away at al cost. If you must use, plan on staying in the fast lane if possible. That is also at a crawl but once you get beyond that area that lane is no longer the fast lane.

Be safe either way.
