Where to camp near Tallahassee

Hello Fellow rv,rs
I am planning to visit Family in Tallahassee over the Christmas holidays in the rv.

We will spend Christmas in the rv at their house and then look for some campgrounds or parks to visit.
Does anyone have any suggestions on places to go near there to camp?
Preferably not beach related, inland on lakes, rivers waterfalls etc.
2-4 hours from Tallahassee is better since we will have to return there then drive to Miami.

Are you an Elk?

The Elks Lodge in Tallahassee has RV spots. We've stayed there.

Is St. George's Island too far away?

Thanks for that, not far at all. Will check there.
I will park the rv at my daughters house for Christmas then head out somewhere.
Just wanted to keep the driving to 2-4 hours from Tallahassee

The mountains would be ideal but 6-8 hours away sounds like too far for a couple days

Go to Google maps, enter Tallahassee, then enter RV Parks.

Several RV parks will pop up in that area.

I don't know if this link will show them:

You won't find a more beautiful place than St. George Island State Park (actually called Dr. Julian G. Bruce St. George Island State Park). Very reasonable distance from Tallahassee. Problem is they book up a year in advance, but this depends on the time of the year.

We go to Tallahassee every spring for the tennis tournament. We stay at Tallahassee RV Park. It is east of the city just off I-10 on Mahan Drive, a straight shot into the city.

There is a rather nice RV Resort on highway 98 east of Eastpoint, facing the bay, and only a short drive (if you have a toad) to St George Island, a number of places to eat in Eastpoint and Apalachicola. Headed out to St George, just before the causeway on the left is the Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve Nature Center

I have never been in there but plan to next time I am in the area.

The RV Resort is Coastline RV Resort and Campground. It is two locations, one is fancy and the one closer to Eastpoint is an older campground that Coastline bought out and have been renovating.

Luxury RV Resort Eastpoint Florida - Coastline RV Resort

Beyond that, there are a number of places toward the coast and also at Lake Seminole where GA, AL, and FL meet, are parks such as Seminole State Park (GA), Three Rivers State Park (FL), East Bank Campground just up the shore on the Ga side of the dam a half mile or so, it is a COE park.
