Looking to find a spot for winter 2015/16. Prefer somewhere on the coast between Corpus Christi and Padre Island. Any suggestions or recommendations? Prefer quiet, scenic setting.

Palacios, TX...... nice, quiet, and peaceful little town....a tourist area in the summer.... off season is just peaceful. Close enough to bigger cities for short trips, close to plenty of history, nice pier for fishing, close to bird sanctuary if you like, and some sweet restaurants with a real local flavor. Palacios, TX...... nice, quiet, and peaceful little town....a tourist area in the summer.... off season is just peaceful. Close enough to bigger cities for short trips, close to plenty of history, nice pier for fishing, close to bird sanctuary if you like, and some sweet restaurants with a real local flavor. Just not this week, it's been cold. Were are in Donna TX, but haven't got out much due to cool weather.
Almost in Mexico, which sounds warm to me . But Donna is too far from Houston... I have elderly parents in the Houston area and will want to visit them every week or two.
