Where to stay in Las Vegas?
We will be going thru Vegas in late January 2017 and would like some info on places to stay? We would want a campsite with at least a 30 amp plugin. Looking at a Good Sam map there are several options, so as this is our 1st time going thru with our 24' class C, we would appreciate any suggestions. We plan on staying 2 nights and looking forward to seeing the Fremont Experience, Mob Museum and one of the Cirque Du Soleil shows.

We used to stay at the Oasis, but the last time found that air traffic went nearly over top-every three minutes or so. Very nice park, but too noisy for us. We're staying at Sams Town in February this time. We look at ease of access given the Las Vegas traffic as well.

Check out the Main Street Casino Hotel (Well you call the hotel) Last time I was there I stayed in their RV lot.. the lot is like 2 blocks off Freemont (Old Original Las Vegas). Some comments.
Just across the back wall is both the Centeral bus Terminal for the Las Vegas public transit system,,, And the Fire Deptartment and I think EMS.. So there is a lot of siren traffic
you are nest to an elevated freeway and next to an exit ramp so there is a lot of traffic noise.. Running A/C on HIGH or HIGH FAN, masks most of it when you are inside the RV.
Checkin/out is with the HOTEL
It is just a parking lot.. Nothing fancy. Good power, No Wi-Fi when I was there (May have changed) but even for limited me it was walkign distance to Freemont.
If returning on foot after dark Security WILL escort you to your RV (This is for your safety) I found them to be very nice (not the best neighborhood but good security)
Plus you are next to OLD las vages, where you get small loung acts instead of big Mega-Theater acts, and only a bus ride from the big places and the strip (or a short drive)

We spent a couple days in Las Vegas at the start of October 2016. We stayed at the Hitching Post RV Park. It's about 8 miles north of the strip on Las Vegas Boulevard. The park was tidy and reasonably clean, security was OK, rates were reasonable (We paid $43 per night total for full hookups, 50 amp service) The strip was easily accessible via the toad - there was decent shopping not too far from the park. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

We have stayed at Duck Creek RV Park out on Boulder Highway ... it is a Passport America facility. Spaces were tight but adequate.

I don't know if its still open but we always stay at the KOA campground at Circus Circus. Then we can walk to the bus stop and take buses all over the strip or a taxi instead of driving. It's a short walk. I had read it was bought out but I saw their site online a month or so ago and showed it was still open. It's just all asphalt but its ok, has 50amp and I like it so I don't have to drive around there at night. I always have trouble remembering how to get to it, I come in from the backside.

So are any of the others close enough to take a taxi or bus? I really don't drive much at night anymore, especially in a mess like that.

We stay at the Oasis. Sometimes the planes are noisy but the park is just off interstate 15 on the south end of the Strip for easy access. They run shuttles to and from the Strip. They have security at the entrance and roving patrols. Several dog runs and a large one just outside the front entrance. All facilities are kept clean and in good repair.
They are also Passport America and Good Sam.

Apparently its now called the RV Park at Circus Circus, there were reviews from Dec 2016, so its still there, not great. Sounds like I need to make reservations, can't just drive in. Will call and check on it.

Circus Circus is no longer the KOA, but we rode through about 6 months ago and it still looks the same, although less busy. On boulder we like Arizona Charlies north about a mile from Sams Town KOA but nicer.

Current at Oasis RV Resort
We have been at Oasis for a month now and the Entegra rally was held here in October. Apx. 1000 sites, very clean, nice people and close to the strip without driving through the strip. Located on the far south end of Vegas. We currently have a big rig spot 70'. Lots of sizes, plenty of shower houses if needed, small gym and small restaurant and dog walks. This will be our go to place anytime we are in Vegas.
