Where to stay returning to San Diego from Yosemite

Looking for suggestions on where to stay on our trip back from Yosemite. We will depart Yosemite on a Thursday and like to pull into San Diego on Saturday. FYI, we are staying in Pismo Beach and Tahoe on the way up.

Depemding on your route out of Yosemite, Castle AFB has a nice air museum with a FHU park associated next to it. If you haven't been to Seqouia NP, I always suggest leaving the RV near Visalia & taking the dinghy/tow vehicle up. Bakersfield has a couple of nice RV parks. Not a lot to do in the area, but we've always managed for a few days. Looks like you're from Escondido so you probably wouldn't be interested in the tourist stuff in Temecula. Hear good things about the park in Yucaipa, but places like that tend to really fill up on weekends.

If you take a similar route southbound, try Morro Bay State Park. We took out coach, 36' 8" Class A in there. It was snug, but we fit. The golf course abuts the campground. I walked to the pro shop. After my round, a cart attendant brought me back to the border between the state park and the course (the 6th hole if I remember correctly).

Next time you're in the Morro Bay area, check out Morro Strand State Beach. Now has FHU's situated to where the windshield of a motorhome is looking towards the Pacific. Very nice. No protection from the winds that can come up. Going to be very popular on weekends & during the summer.

If Morro Bay is on your list as a stop, check out Morro Dunes RV Park. I've been there and loved it, especially its proximity and access to the ocean. -RT
