Winding River Ranch Burnt Down
The Winding River Ranch just outside of Grand Lake, CO burnt to the ground in October during the East Troublesome Fire. The entire place was destroyed, however all the animals and folks are safe. I'm pretty sure they had RV campsites. We visited there and it was beautiful. Colorado River ran right through it and in most places you could jump across it so I'm guessing it was very near the head waters of the Colorado River.

Sorry to hear that. It was a very bad fire.

One of our favorite RV Parks plan to return again in 2021. Below was from September 2018.

Glad most of the facilities survived having stayed there in August. The Grand Kake Lidge across the highway survived too .

You must be talking about somewhere different from Winding River Ranch, because I believe every building burnt to the ground.

Sorry, that's Winding River Resort. Not the same place. Google Winding River Ranch. It was a total loss. Every building burnt to the ground pretty much. They ran a wedding venue, a petting zoo of sorts, camping and a whole bunch of other things.

Here's a link to the 'remains' of Winding River RANCH.... not 'resort'.

I think there is some confusion here, I don’t think Winding River Ranch is a campground as some have stated. Winding River Resort is a campground and they had some damage but were not totally destroyed. We stayed at the Resort years ago and really enjoyed it! Hope they recover quickly!
Been to the Ranch to, it was a beautiful place....hope it comes back

Since this is a camping location thread I’ll spot you it should have been Resort, not Ranch BUT based on the pictures I looked at and their entrances, they do not have camping sites.my RV will not fit under those.

I think it was all dry camping. The ranch was a lot of territory much of which wasn't developed.
