I would think it would be pretty cold in a motorhome in Jan and in Baltimore. Wait till spring to try RV lifestyle. Best Wishes and CONGRATULATIONS on the grand baby

Cherry Hill Park in College Park MD is open all year round. Also look into an app called Allstays. It may help. This why RVers head south in winter.

EdJodi..... Don't believe the Chamber of Commerce! Baltimore is NOT the south! I lived in the DC area (Springfield VA) a while back. By early March spring is nigh, but January in that neck of the woods is real. You've got a fair chance of a bad storm and sub-20* weather.

I would hit the Renaissance for the birth, and go RVing in the spring.

Thanks for the info. We seem to need to rethink our plans.

Thanks for the info. We have realized that this may not work

I am afraid you may not find much, if anything, open near Baltimore at that time of year. There are not many good options in the summer even. In the unlikely event you do find an open campground you probably won't have water available. Weather is variable but snow and temps well below freezing are quite possible.

Merry Meadows is open year round. Although camping in January in MD does not sound like the way to see if you enjoy the lifestyle. FWIW

Being from Maryland, and now retired, we stay far, far away in the winter.

Good plan! If you want to give the RV lifestyle a chance, best to try it in warmer weather. It's not that you can't RV in the winter, but it brings on new challenges (preventing water freeze-up problems being a biggie) that are better faced once you have some experience with the usual stuff.

Congrats on the grandbaby!

Merry Meadows is 30 mins north of Baltimore and we have stayed there a bit. Another option is Rambin Pines in Woodbine. Similar to Merry Meadows. They have a limited amount of spaces available for the winter though, so call them. Cherry Hill is 30 mins south of Baltimore and has plenty of spaces available. Those are really the only options in Maryland for a motorhome that I am aware of and have stayed at.

When we go to Baltimore in November, we stay in Gwynn Oaks but there is just about nothing close in Baltimore that I'm aware of.

Good luck in your search and congrats!!!
