Zip-lining and Jeep Tours?

While on our huge 2020 spring trip to the Grand Canyon, Utah, Wyoming, Montana and South Dakota.we are hoping to get a chance to do some zip lining and jeep tours. We have never done zip lining, but we have always wanted to. But we do not want to do anything extremely high or strenuous to start off with.

We have also never done any jeep tours. We do not have a jeep, so we will either have to take a tour or rent a jeep (or something else). I figured the jeep tours would be best while we are at Moab, Utah.

Moab has everything you want! There are other places of course, but Moab is my favorite

Moab, UT and Silverton, CO are our favorite for Jeeping. Rental and tours are readily available for all levels of ability.

If you do a tour with a driver... do an exciting, harder one. If renting, not so much but don't do a trail that's more of a siteseeing one - kind of flat! Put a little challenge into it and you'll have a ball. Be sure to ask how long the trail may take. You won't be driving fast. A 3-mile hard trail could take a good part of the day but you probably won't be driving one like that at first.

At these popular places there will always be someone on the trails to help you out, if necessary. You won't be alone and the majority are like RVers - ready to help or answer questions.

My brother is in an off-road club in NW Arkansas, but we will not ride with him. He has turned his jeep over enough that the club name on the windshield of his jeep is upside down. He had to get special seat belts being he had to cut his the last time he flipped the jeep.

While in Moab 4 yrs ago we rented a side by side and took a guided tour ( about 6 vehicles) It was a blast .... here's the website -- we did the sunset tour T-Rex Off-Road 4x4 Tours | You Get To Drive On Hell's Revenge>>MoabTours | Moab Activities | Tourist Information | Moab 4x4 Tours | Moab Offroad Tours
We also did a jet boat tour and that was lots of fun too--- https://www.moabjett.com/

Sedona has many jeep and other off road adventures, plus one zip lining option. It would be about 3 hours from the south rim.

Flagstaff, AZ Fort Tuthill has camping and a great zip-line course. Some ladder and rope ladder climbing, some very long zip-lines, all with a great safety clip-in system. You are unable to have both safety lines unhooked once on the course. Course is in the pine trees.
Zip line course name is Xtreme AZ I think. Wife and I loved it.

Canyonlands NP is our favorite Jeep destination. Gemini Bridges, Chicken Corners(excellent view from Deadhorse Point). Musselman Arch. Best of all is 279 out of Moab to Potash Rd to Shafer Trail, which leads into the east section of the park and ends up to the Islands in the Sky Visitor's Ctr. and Shafer Canyon Overlook. Head north on the road in front of the visitor's ctr. and hang a right to Pucker Pass and Long Canyon. Super views coming down the canyon road and it intersects 279, hang a left back to Moab. "Super Loop".

Our all time favorite Jeep road is between Ouray and Telluride CO. Degree of difficulty isn't too bad but the scenery will give you 'goose bumps'. Jeep tours/caravans are available.

On our Jeep excursions in Utah, we learned to always start with a full tank, gallon of iced water, lunch and an emergency sandwich. We Jeep'd dawn to dusk...Utah is absolutely beautiful in the Moab area, but the humidity, or the lack of, will suck you dry if not careful. We have to go back!

We did Dan Mick's jeep tour when we were in Moab. We did much more than I would have been happy with if my husband was driving. I truly enjoyed the experience which was way out of my comfort zone.

There is an old RV Park just before the Palo Duro Canyon entrance in North TX that has a Zip Line setup. Not too high or long but a decent ride over part of the P.D. Canyon.

I too would recommend "Dan Mick" tours. We did Hell's Revenge with Dan's son in law for 3 hours, including Mick's Hot Tub, in and out in 45 seconds. Another option they have is coaching some in their own jeep. We will do that next time.
