2022 ABQ Balloon Fiesta
Reservations for this year's Balloon Fiesta opened at 9 am Central Time. I logged on at 2 pm Central and there's *no* reservations left - zero! I even checked day by day and there aren't even any available spots for the weeknights, such as just Tuesday night or just Wednesday, etc. We camped at the Fiesta twelve (?) years ago and I'm sure we reserved our spot only a month or so in advance. My bad for not being online right on time but didn't realize that they now go that fast!
Question - assuming many of the spots were taken by the organizers of groups and tour companies who will resell the spots - which groups are the most likely to have taken the hookup spots? I'm aware of FMCA, Good Sam, Escapees, etc. but assume they take the cheapest sites. Appreciate the knowledge of those more experienced

Consider yourself lucky. Was online before 9 mt. Clicked on link they said to use for 2 hours and it constantly redirected to start point. That was if you could stay on site. Fiesta told local news they had a problem. Found out on Facebook there was a back door way to reserve sites. Go back on at 12 to discover sold out. At least 2 years ago could get online but sold out in 15 minutes. Yes Escappees get sites and sells at a nice profit. Alot of brand specific groups blocks spots. Been 2 times but think I am done with there system. Not for the little guy.

55Stude = thanks for posting; glad I wasn't alone although sorry for your frustration. I'll keep an eye out once groups start to advertise availability. I was specifically interested in the hookup sites but I know there are very few and probably already long-gone.
Happy Camping!

Stayed with Monaco International this year in VIP West. Great location. Was looking to add a few days on our own. Groups buying up blocks has made it hard to get a spot. Nice with Monaco International they make 0 profit.

Was trying to go this year, log on just a while ago. 20,000 sites in 90 minutes. I would not have had a chance getting a site. The groups buying up sites is not right, but who will stop that.
I guess we will have to find something else to do out west that week.

My wife was online, waiting & ready to go the minute the site opened.
She kept refreshing for over 2 hours & never got onto the reservation page. She finally did & the only availability was the waiting list.

Is there a way to get on the waiting list, did not see anything on line.

What is the link for camping on the balloon grounds?? I know I won’t get one now but in the future. I looked but found KOA and RV parks information.

Put that generator to use & go get a site on the other side of Alemeda. Best area to be anyway. Balloons begin to launch at 7:00AM. At 7:15 step outside of you MOHO & they are right above your head. By mid week when the camping sites thin out you might even get them landing right next to you. There is an area where the genny can be run 24/7 but the nights are cool so who really needs the A/C?
Been there three times. First time with an owners group. Two times on our own, NO reservations, arriving on the Monday & Tuesday after the very busy weekend start.

Starts me to thinking...is it really worth the hassle to get a site and put up with the crowds? I think we will just find someplace else to drop anchor.
