Yes, sadly. The rain and cold just won't stop. The theme of the new member welcome speech was "We're all gonna die soon". No one was able to positively answer the new members' question "What do we get from an FMCA membership?". Looks like a dying organization.

Yes, we had some difficulty understanding where that was going. Then it got even more interesting. Several new members encountered rude volunteers at check-in. This was explained with the theory that elderly people take an assortment of medications. Hence, what was perceived as rudeness was attributed to chemically imbalanced old people. Maybe a more formal new member recruiting plan is in order.

You're killin' me !! .... too funny !!.... sounds like some of the meetings for our HOA. I am NOT rude ... just imbalanced (that's much better).

We stopped by on Saturday and everyone was smiling. Maybe it was the sunshine....maybe, it was all the drugs. Other than everyone in line for ice cream, we didn't see much going on.

This was my pricing experience at the show too. One of the vendors was asking MSRP for their product at the booth. I asked if they would match current retail price. He was quite insulted by such a ridiculous suggestion. Same at the Verizon table. I would save $100 on the same product at Best Buy. And the benefit of having these vendors at the rally is???

More social activities, less selling would have been nice. In other show presentations I have attended, the speakers were specifically banned from touting their products from the podium, or at least limited to five minutes.
