GNR in Iowa 2015
My wife and I will be attending the Winebago GNR this year for the first time. I am looking for some help with a couple of things. Is there anywhere to dump and fillup with fresh water prior to entering the grounds? Does anyone have any tips while there or any must sees on the way out from Northwest Ohio?
Thanks for your help
Bill

there is a park just down the street from the rally grounds that you can dump your holding tanks. I don't know if you can fill up water tanks of not. I think you can fill your water tank on the rally grounds. They don't have a water connection for each spot but I think several units can share a water connection to fill tanks . As far as whats on the way I don't know. I have been once and are going this year but we did not stop on the way over

There is a city park down the road where you can dump and the rally grounds has honey wagon service for a fee. As stated above there is water available ( shared by groups of coaches )throughout the grounds. You'll need to attach a few hoses to reach .

The "park" down the street has a free dump station and potable water. Don't be afraid to ask anybody there where it is.
Also, on the pretext of going for service you can go dump/refill potable water and get back into the WIT rally. I've seen may people do it! It's okay.

We went last year and not going this year. Hope you enjoy the GNR. If you get there early you have a per day fee to park and as others have said the water connections are here and there but the dump station outside of town is really nice and can accommodate several rigs at a time. Take earplugs if you want to sleep if (like last year) the military row plays reveille every morning and very loud! We had work done at the factory and was very happy with the work. Check in the moment you get there to get your items listed and get a number.
You asked about stuff to see - we did venture out a little and saw some interesting things around the area. The factory area has some nice brochures on sight seeing.

Take an extra hose as you may need to span a long distance to get water. The Honey wagons come each day and you buy tickets for what you need.
Be sure to take the Factory Tour while there.
Went last year and took two Grandchildren with us. Winnebago provides lots of entertainment for them as well. I think it cost us around thirty bucks per Grandchild.
Just South of the Rally Grounds is a Pioneer Village which we visited last year. Worth a look.
We will be in the C-50 area with the Grandchildren this year.
Oh yeah, be sure to rent a golf cart. The grounds are very large and you cannot drive your car on them.
There is a lot to see and do.

Pammel Park
600 E J St
Forest City, IA 50436
GPS 43.263269, -93.631237
Several dump stations and water fills, all free
BTW - Golf carts are VERY expensive to rent but if you cannot walk well they would help because the area is pretty big. Fairly flat but about 1/4 mile from one end to the other.
Bikes work very well since it's pretty flat. Only a few minor grades and the roads are hard gravel and a few are paved too.
Check it out here:

This is a Google map of the rally grounds.
The Winnebago map of the grounds is here:

Have fun! We are here now for some maintenance and will be back for the rally. It's a great time.
