Quartzsite 2025 Jeep & SxS rally January 14-19,2025

Third Annual Desert Dust Run Quartzsite AZ January 14-19, 2025
Join us for the third annual off road adventure on Roadrunner BLM land, outside the town of Quartzite AZ (off highway 10). There are two days of planned off road adventures in the surrounding areas. We will be Boon-docking on the 14 day free Roadrunner BLM land. This is the perfect place to learn the joys of boon-docking. We are 6.5 miles outside of town, so if you run out of resources you can run into town dump and fill tanks. Join us for two days of trail riding with either your Jeep or Side by Side. Depending on Interest, we will either be running easy trails or “sketchy” trails. We have added a side by side group this year and will be running them separately. For those not wishing the 4x4 trails, we will be doing hikes to some of the interesting spots around Quartzite.

He can provide you with quotes for installation while here in Quartzsite.
10 am Jay Mack will be presenting a lecture on 12 volt systems and how they “should” operate on our rigs. Jay’s knowledge is extensive and we look forward to our members trying to stump him.

5pm Pot Luck for dinner. Please bring a Dish to pass (heavy hors d’oeuvres).
6 pm Bonfire weather permitting

Sunday 1/19/25

Like last year, we are charging $85 to cover the cost of food & entertainment. In December, we will be sending out exact directions to our spot on B.L.M. Road Runner 14 day camping area. There will be photos of our new knife flags to help you find us. We will also send out a request for volunteers and a primer on boon-docking in December. For those arriving early, you can watch Steve and Andy put up the cooking tent, which can be quite entertaining. Please feel free to forward this PDF as all are welcome.

Seeing 30-60 jeeps lined up in the morning

Yes it’s a neat event . In the morning of the first trail ride seeing 30-60 jeeps and some side by sides lined up to head out on the different trails is a site . The other neat event is when we have 75 pizzas delivered for our Music night . I believe this is a bucket list item seeing the Big tent or going to the Desert Bar (look it up on You tube) .

Is it possible to just come for the trail rides, not the rest? It’s not that I wouldn’t like to, but I am organizing a rally for another group that overlaps. We generally ride our SXS with the Arizona SunRiders club, but it would be nice to meet some other folks.

UTTrans,

You are welcome to ride with us. Welead the Razor rides and would be happy for you to join us. As Andy said, you can also follow the jeeps, but they go faston roads and slow in trails. We will pass you our start times so you can transit from your camping area.
Look forward to seeing you.

Some images from last years event

Jd as of today we have 7 side by sides running as a group and 22 jeeps . Hopefully will top last years 60 jeeps . We are planning to break the big groups like last year into small groups to help minimize the dust . I am getting in late December and hope to find some new trails to take the side by sides on . We are going to send a group to dripping springs ( one of the best rides in the area) , another to the Bed and breakfast ( neat spot created by local 4x4 club) . I was also thinking of running the side by sides near Q mountain I thought there were some fun trails for the side by sides. If anyone has some suggestions I am all ears ?
Thanks AndyM

Firewood - our instalment

Andy, we are excited, if you couldn't tell. Went up to Tonto National forest today and gathered some wood for the event. Got most of it cut up and split today, so will be good for our nightly fires.

We are hanging out with Newmar Kountry Klub in Indio the week prior, but will be ready to relax, ride UTVs and enjoy the company at Quartzite.

Andy,

We are ready to roll toward Q. Just need to find out when our son does their final drag racing after Christmas, then we'll head out. Got new tires and maintenance on RV, and George helped me out with my battery charging issues after converting to 100% lithium.

ps glad to see you posted this event here!! Look forward to seeing all our RV Q friends again.....

Randy and Katherine....
