No it wasn't bad. We had a good time. Like the Jimmy Buffet song, breathe in breathe out move on.

Only in so much as I had to buy generators or go home. The rest was good.

Unless you are going to hook up with old friends, I don't see the appeal of these rallies.

If you do go to these things, you really need to be the type that can roll with the punches and look at it as an adventure of sorts. Rarely does something go to plan - especially when you are counting on volunteers and not paid employees.

If you are expecting orderliness, courtesy and absolute rules following, then you will obviously be sorely disappointed. Perhaps Kharma is getting hers on some of you.

This started with the OPs complaint of location next to the highway due to soggy ground.
My main complaint was no planning by an organization that watched it rain for a week and the soggy go to a point where the wreckers pulled units out. After the cost of generators that we bought 6 months earlier than planned, the rest was good.
For our case it was something different. Our next trip is boon docking with friends at a ATV trail head. We pack for the trip, but floatation is for the boaters and the winch is for the ATV

Interesting thread. It reminded me of the time I went to National Guard Camp in Wi. It was mentioned in the papers because there was to be a "war" the first week. Unfortunately, Mother Nature didn't comply as it started to rain very heavily causing the equipment to bog down. They called off the war and we sat around with nothing to do for almost two weeks. Top that lack of a contingency plan.

I have to admit that I haven't laugh this hard in a long time.
Not that I don't feel sorry for the people that went to the rally.
The people that wrote the Threads should get a job writing for a co-mac strip.
Now I am having second thought about going to any Good Sam Rally.
Just a thought.

Wait ... WHAT???! The National Guard called off training because of inclement weather??? Do they expect to fight only in fair weather and blue skies?
