Question Tour or Caravan Prices

Been a member of several RVing clubs for a long time. We have never signed up for a tour or caravan due to the high cost of same. Am I missing something? One tour I just looked at via the WIT club was Pennsylvania. four or five nights camping plus 8 different tours including Gettysburg and Eisenhower Farm. Also includes a few factory tours. Not sure what factory tours cost individually but I'm pretty sure that package cost if purchased outside of the group would be no more than half of the stated $2000 for two people. I understand there is some value to traveling in groups but also some drawbacks to traveling in groups. Can anyone who takes advantage of the tours please tell me what I'm missing? Would love to go to Alaska with at least one other rig.

What's it worth to you to know that you'll have a campground spot waiting for you when you reach a destination? WIT does all the planning, makes all the arrangements, and you'll be surprised at the number of things you'll do that you never would think of doing on your own.

Alaska was only about $125/day, including the campgrounds. Can you do it cheaper? Probably, yes, but it's a lot of work. And you'll make some good friends on the trip.
