189 around or 15 through SLC

Heading from provo to Bear Lake UT/ID:

I15 and 189 / 80 routes are about the same distance. All things equal I avoid cities. Is 189 ok for me and my fiver? Wont save time but may enjoy it more.,.

I can safely say that hauling 19,000 pounds of RV and a toad... Beltways are nearly always a better choice... Can't say I've been out your way (YET!) but, my experience has been, it is always better to avoid a city if you can...

We take 89 from I15. The drop into Bear Lake is pretty steep, I go down in 2nd gear.

We stay at the KOA.

If you go through Salt Lake on Sunday morning you'll think the freeway is closed...lol

Yes, 189 is a beautiful drive and popular with RVers. It's only about 50 mi. Just about all scenic roads are now on YouTube.
