190 or I-10 through Louisiana?

Anybody have recent experience with these roads from Lafayette to Texas border?

Not 190 but my experience with other LA secondary routes is that they are mostly terrible. As for I10 it is one of the worst routes in the country.

I 10 is good now its been resurfaced and if you want to experience a racetrack. If your looking to get there quick take 10, if you want to see Louisiana take 90 its 2 lane and runs through towns and sugarcane fields.

I90 is the northern most east/west interstate highway in the USA. Long was from Louisiana.

Think they meant 190 which is a U.S. highway which is close to i-10

We've driven both. We like secondary roads the best and a stop in Eunice on 190 for Cajun music was fun.

I-10 near Texas is built over a swamp. That why it's difficult to keep that highway smooth. It shifts.

I wouldn't want to spend time in Louisiana at this time. It's one of the hotspots for the virus.

yes. we ran US190/LA12/TX12 between Baton Rouge, LA and Beaumont, TX earlier this year. we did that because the last time we rode I-10 our MH seemed like it was gonna shake apart.

190 between I-110 and I-49 is 4-lane all the way but rough-to-very rough in spots. in my opinion it is somewhat better than I-10. if I-10 is a '1' on a scale of 1-10 then 190 is a '3-4'. west of I-49 190 is much, much better. it changes from a 4-ln to 2-ln around Kinder, LA and stays 2-ln to Beaumont. I-10 at Beaumont is under construction.

all things considered we will take 190/22/12 again next year.

We picked up I-10 in Jacksonville, Fl. Dec 5th and went west. We arrived at Lake Conroe Texas Dec 15th. Left there and went west to Casa Grande, Az. Now we are leaving here going back toward Lake Conroe. The worst section of I-10 was the section you described. As you go toward Beaumont from the state line, sections of construction and the lanes are narrow. Going across the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge the road was not real bad, but also consider if there is an accident you will be stuck. We did not know about this bridge, but when we stayed at Sulphur Springs, La. some of the locals informed us it has been known to happen. They say you can sit for several hours, or even overnight

Thanks for the responses. Because we just wanted to get out of LA quickly, we stuck with I-10 from I49 to Lake Charles, then hopped up to 190 in DeRidder. That part of I-10 was not bad. 190 through DeRidder was the part I wouldn’t want to repeat.
