199 or 299 from Coast to I5

What is the better route for a 40ft motorhome and toad from the coast in northern California to I5? I heard there was lots of construction on 299 in the last couple of years to make it an easier drive. Any suggestions?

Take Hwy 20 from I-5 and drive up 101 or vice versa. That's the easiest.

199 is a fine road. Couple of tight apota, but nothing you cant handle. Be sure to visit Oregon Caves.
