412 Across OK?

Planning a trip from AR to Salida, Co. Driving a gas'er pulling a toad.
Hwy 412 is a straight shot across Ok. But how's the road?
I've read a lot of older comments about how bad/bumpy the road is.

Last time we were on 412 was 2 years ago and it was like a rub board from the AR border past Tulsa. Don't know about the rest of it.

I sent the governor of OK a message that they should be ashamed of the roads ther.

One of the biggest issues with OK Hwys is they use concrete sections and they have joints in them that are not even, so you are bouncing constantly. When you get on an asphalt road they are not usually maintained well.

That said it's been a long time since I was on 412 but by Oklahoma standards it was alright.

Another vote for lousy roads and poor maintenance in Oklahoma. Cant speak for 412, but Hwy 69 is one of the WORST highways we have ever traveled.
So bad that we still have PTSD from it.

I live in Tulsa. I drove to Woodward in March.

From the Arkansas to Tulsa, 412 is fair/okay. West of Tulsa is really rough. The Cimarron Turnpike is really bad. As DKRITTER mentioned, the joints between sections are terrible. West of I-35 seems to get better and then West of Enid isn't bad at all.

If you do take 412, stop at Gloss Mountain as long as you don't mind climbing some steps. It is literally right on 412. You can spend as little as 15 minutes or a couple of hours. The views are worth the stop.
