Alaska Not That Road

We are planning a 2 month trip to Alaska. We did a Sea/Land tour with Holland America a few years back. The land cruise took us on a road north toward Denali that required the bus driver to be specially certified. This road was very steep with lots of short turns and large drop offs. I remember thinking I never want to drive this road. I don't remember the name of the road or exactly where it was.: Does anyone know of any very challenging roads on the Alcan Highway? I'm not talking about bad surfaces roads just scary steep roads with tight turns and Big Drop-offs.

We were in Alaska 2years ago !The road was not bad (frost heaves ) we had 38ft Allegro with toad !
Get a milepost book before you go ! Gives mm as you travel ! Fuel is not readily available so if a chance of long distance make sure you have plenty!
We started at mm 0 in Dawson Creek to Fairbanks Alaska its 1523 miles!we had 100gallon diesel tank and had no problem!
Make sure you have whatever before getting into BC ! As lady in welcome center that means "bring cash"

I'm guessing here, but did your previous tour include a boat portion on the Yukon River? I'm thinking the road you might be referencing is the road into Eagle, AK, which is north/east from Chicken, just off the Top of the World Highway. Holland America used to run tour buses into Eagle to pick up/drop off passengers on their boat to/from Dawson City on the Yukon River. We drove that road - buses needed pilot cars - some turns were really sharp. ST

I grew up in Eagle, Alaska...the roads there were not RV friendly at all. In fact, I was there when one of those buses ended up on it's side due to a soft shoulder. I'm guessing the road the OP is talking about is the Dalton Hwy, north of Fairbanks. Not a friendly road, recently opened to the public, but not recommended.
