Albuqurque NM to Bullfrog Marina UT Class A

We are driving our Class A pusher to Lake Powell. We will then board a houseboat at the Bullfrog Marina. So....from about ABQ to the Bullfrog marina... It shows a 7 hour run if the Halls Landing Ferry is up and running.

Has anyone made this trip? I have never driven through the mountains in an RV at all..... But I have driven a school bus for 20 years.

Has anyone recently made this journey that would be willing to share info?

Not sure which route your are taking I 40 or US 550 but neither of those routes is going to take you through any real mountainous terrain. You will run across the occasional steep hill on 191 or 95 and maybe 276 but nothing that is going to last for miles and miles. 95 when you first get on it the first 20-30 miles will have some good hills but they aren't long mountain pass slogs there are a couple hairpins as well but again nothing long or too many. 191 will have a couple good grades but nothing overly steep or taxing . I don't recall anything of real note on 276 (either side). However I would call and make sure the ferry is running as it isn't at the moment.

Unsure if it is mechanically related or low water levels so it could be back up by the time you go. I know the water level is up from last year when I drove though the area compared to this year (was on 95 last week) but unsure of actual level and the ferry doesn't run at all if it is below x level

The only grade of real note that I can recall (aside from the first 20ish miles)is on 95 shortly after you cross the Colorado River and the Dirty Devil River it is fairly steep and fairly long as in a few miles but hundreds of cars, rvs and trucks do it everyday though. If the ferry is running you wont even go up it as you will take 276 and ferry instead.

I would not count on the Ferry (JMHO) and could never drive this route without stopping at Canyon de Chelly and Monument Valley so my route would be - https://binged.it/2tIQuEC - or these - https://binged.it/2tIy6Mk - if a more direct route is desired - think 8-10 hours for the drive as you are not on an Interstate.

Little Hot right now - but I guess that water will surely be inviting.

Just checked on the Ferry - CLOSED FOR REPAIRS - no date on when it will reopen.

Been awhile since we have been to that area - would love to see a picture or two - love that part of Utah - just so Different.

Best of Luck,
