Arizona 89a from Sedona to Flagstaff - drive or don't

RVTripwizard routes me north from Sedona to Flagstaff on 89A. I have entered all of my trailer and truck info into the default settings. So one would think it must be OK and safe for me to drive.
However, my trailer is 35 feet long and research tells me I should not drive this stretch.
What gives?

We drove that same stretch south from Flagstaff to Sedona and I wouldn't want to do it again. There is a section of it, about 10-12 miles south of Flagstaff that has so many sequancial tight twists and turns that it makes your head spin. Also the elevation difference between the two ai about 4000 feet and if your northbouund out of Sedona, you have about 18 miles of 6-7% grade to climb and the reverse if you're coming into Sedona from the north.

Here's the section between Flagstaff and Sedona referred to. The elevation drops several hundred feet southbound into Oak Creek Canyon. It's a good road, you just have to be aware and take your time. Also, the Oak Creek Canyon area is a recreational playground and can be crowded with traffic at times.

I would not recommend it. There are signs saying nothing longer than 35 feet. Stay on 17 south and come in from the east. If you are headed into Cottonwood stay on 17 until you hit Camp Verde. Not worth the stress. They were also doing construction in June so not sure they are done yet.

This past May there was construction on 89A, and the road was down to 1 lane. It was a very narrow lane. The sign sat that time said nothing over 30 feet because of the turns in the 1 lane area.

Check and see if there are still construction on 89A between Sedona and Flagstaff.

No! We live in the area and friends of ours tried it with their 19ft travel trailer behind a Toyota Tundra, they said they barely made it and wouldn't do it again. There's construction going on and part way through a temporary stop light. No way to turn around.
