Auburn to Birmingham - I65 or US280?

Google maps tells me either is 2 1/4 hours, 146 miles on I65 or 112 on 280. Any preferences?

By car maybe. RVTripWizard estimates 2:28 on I-65 and 2:50 on 280.

I'm having a hard time imagining any other way between Auburn and B'ham than US280. No, you won't make interstate speed but its a good drive. Some of it may hinge on what you are doing or which direction you are going, once you reach B'ham.

Just go up 280. It's a good drive. And it would beat the heck out of going through/around Montgomery.

My vote is for 280. Relaxing drive on great 4 lane road, at decent speeds with light traffic.
